Actress Nivetha Pethuraj says her role in upcoming Tamil film Tik Tik Tik was extraordinarily challenging, but she found the working experience very satisfactory. The film stars Jayam Ravi in the lead role and is directed by Shakti Rajan, who earlier made Miruthan, Tamil cinema’s first Zombie flick. Nivetha said she got injured so severely on various occasions during the shoot, but continued the schedule since she didn’t like to make others wait. As Nivetha exclusively told BollywoodLife, “While doing a climax stunt, I was on the harness, and I had to fly. When I reached a vessel in the scene, something ripped my thumb, and I could see my muscle and thumb bone. When Jayam Ravi and others on the sets advised me to get back to the caravan and take some rest, I didn’t go. To be honest, it didn’t hurt much, and I wanted to finish the scene also I have this phobia of wasting other people’s time. Then Ravi and the team applied me some first aid, and we proceeded with the shoot. Once the scene was successfully shot, I came to my caravan and cried uncontrollably.”
Nivetha says she never doubted Shakti Rajan’s ability to pull off a space film although it’s just his third directorial. “Though Shakti has less experience as a director, the way he has studied South Indian cinema is what I appreciate about him. He knows where to slot an emotion and where to avoid an unneeded song,” she said. (ALSO READ – Exclusive! Tik Tik Tik actor Jayam Ravi: Everyone discouraged my decision to work in a space film)
